Land Acknowledgment

I acknowledge and give thanks to the land on which I live and work, as well as to the people who have cared for it. This land is located within the traditional Treaty 8 territory, which serves as the ancestral and present-day home to many diverse First Nations, Métis, and Inuit people. I am grateful to work and live on the traditional territory of Duncan's First Nation, Horse Lake First Nation, and Sturgeon Lake First Nation, the original caretakers of this land.

Please note that the image on the left is a quilt panel that I quilted for a customer. This panel, called Full Moon Rising by International Textiles Ltd., reflects the artistry inspired by First Nations traditions and the heritage of Treaty 8 territory.
